Prison lockdown search called off
A lockdown at a West Midlands prison is now over.

Specially-trained staff and dogs had been carrying out a search at the category C prison at Featherstone, in Staffordshire.

The prison, near Wolverhampton, went into full lockdown after information was received that a handgun had been smuggled inside.

A team of sniffer dogs and investigating officers found no evidence of firearms.

HMP Featherstone houses inmates who are serving sentences ranging from three years to life.
