 An inmate at the Orleans Parish jail has died after what the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's office called an "altercation'' with another inmate.

 A prison inmate at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater died Monday after being stabbed several times, Michigan State Police at Coldwater said today.

The inmate, Derrick D. Lee, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene after troopers were called at 9 p.m.
