Authorities say an Arizona fugitive who was captured after a three-week manhunt used a plastic razor Tuesday morning to cut his neck and forearm.

John McCluskey was transported to the Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Mohave County sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter says the cuts were serious but not life threatening.

She says the wounds were stitched and McCluskey was returned to the county jail in Kingman. He's being held in a single cell under the highest security level.

McCluskey was captured last week at a remote Arizona campsite, along with the woman accused of helping him and two other inmates escape from the Arizona state prison near Kingman on July 30.
