Inmate's escape triggers jail investigation
KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- About 20 employees are facing disciplinary action following the escape of an inmate from the Osceola County jail.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, an investigation shows that 21 guards and civilian employees committed violations, which included fabricated reports and a botched cell search. County Manager Michael J. Freilinger says the violations "led directly and indirectly" to the escape of Michael Rigby, who remains at large.
The 21-year-old Rigby was facing several felony charges, including attempted murder, when he broke out of the Kissimmee facility in February.
