State seeks prison escapee
A man who walked away from a minimum-security Department of Corrections facility might be armed and dangerous, the department said.
Brandon McDonald left the Lower Savannah Pre-Release Center in Aiken on March 2. The department believes he is traveling in western South Carolina with his common-law wife, Mchelle Cooper and an 8-month-old son. They might be in a green Toyota Camry with an S.C. tag FFG 895.
McDonald was convicted of assault and battery in Greenwood County. He was serving a four-year sentence that began last September. Cooper faces charges of aiding and abetting McDonald, who himself faces a new charge of felony escape.
Anyone with information can call the department's Fugitive Apprehension Unit at (877) 349-2130 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., call (803) 896-2258. You also can call the State Law Enforcement Division at (803) 737-9000 or local law enforcement.
