Corrections officer arrested for trafficking drugs into prison

Police arrested one of their own today after he was discovered trafficking drugs into Cumberland County Jail.  Toby M. Post, 38, is a Cumberland County correction officer. He was arrested on two counts of Trafficking in Prison Contraband.

This arrest has subsequently brought the integrity of jail officers into question.

He was discovered by police to be a middleman in delivering opiate drugs to an inmate in the facility after he was observed taking control of a cache of drugs. He was arrested immediately.

An investigation has been launched in order to identify other parties involved.

Post has been released on bail and has been placed on paid administrative leave. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 10.

 Union leadership has offered their assistance in resolving questions surrounding the incident.
